Corey has made music before, but never anything like this.  Corey was incorporated into Black Cabaret when Justin wanted someone to sing with him on the first song he produced.  “I used to be in a pop-punk/emo band, but was never as active in the creative process as I have been with Black Cabaret.”  After “Lovely” was recorded, the two began collaborating on songs – production and writing.  It’s been some of the most exciting creative work he’s done.

Not content to write a normal album, the guys wanted to try something a little more difficult.  Fascinated with romance, the guys wanted to study it and catalog their thoughts, impressions, and experiences in song.  Keep your eyes on the boys, while they start the show…

 

Black Cabaret was an idea born out of boredom by Justin. "I wanted a hobby, and this was the worst one to actually pursue due to the amount of work, commitment and cost. Creating something was the goal and once I started writing and putting songs together, I thought I'd want Corey to sing on some stuff with me...and that's when it all kind of fell into place." With Corey coming up with the name, the collaboration began, each taking part in writing the songs. 'Lovely,' the first song written and recorded, it seemed to be a good start to something that was to be completely based on artifice.

Working together when time permits, Corey and Justin are busy putting together their first E.P., 'One Night With...,' that will be an examination of the cyclical patterns of relationships, examining the doubts within those relationships, and the ease with which people move from love to war within moments of a relationship.
